Romans one study and thoughts

Romans has so much wisdom and direction! Today my Dad and I read the same chapter in the Bible which makes me think God is trying to teach us something. . .Let's look.

The chapter was Romans 1.

Scripture:

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is by the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. . .

Romans 1:16

Observation

Me:  Paul says that he is not ashamed of knowing Christ and having faith in Jesus. I think we should do that too.

Dad:  Not ashamed? Why would I be ashamed of such an amazing thing as God's plan of saving me from my sins? Because when I am with others suddenly my pride gets to big and I don't want look weird around them.  If I can remember how important the gospel is, I can be ready to share it.

Application

Me:  I need to not be ashamed in my faith in Christ. My relationship with Christ is very important to me; why

keep the exciting news to myself.

Dad:  Spend more time reading, thinking and discussing the gospel so it is easy to talk about and one the first things that comes to mind when talking with others. Become excited about the gospel again!

Prayer

Me:  God, sometimes I am ashamed of my relationship with you. I do love you; so I should be excited to share the gospel with the lost in faith. Love you! in Jesus' name, Amen.

Dad:  Father, thank you for sending your son to die for our sins and beat death for us. Would you continue to build my faith in you so I can share your good news with everyone without shame.
